Preparing for Europe

On Monday, May 11th, Rich and I will be heading to Europe for 3 weeks! We will be spending about a week each in Ireland, Paris, and Rome. I am BEYOND excited as this will be, with the exception of a day trip to Canada, my first time traveling outside of the United States! My very first passport arrived in the mail last weekend…

All of our flights, and Air BnB apartments are booked…so now it feels so real!

But there is still so much to do before we go! This weekend we are road tripping to Arizona to take Emmi to her dog sitter.

My best friend will be taking care of her while we are away. She and her fiancé have 2 other big dogs, so Emmi will have playmates for a month! After a quick visit with friends and family in Arizona, we will fly home on Sunday to finish packing for our trip.

I have a 12 mile run scheduled for Monday, which I will (hopefully) squeeze in before our 6PM flight overseas. We are planning on running the Cork City Half Marathon during our stay in Ireland, AND Rich and I are also in the middle of training for the San Francisco Marathon, so there will be plenty of running in Europe…or as much as we can manage 😀 I will be working on a blog post for the San Francisco Marathon about training for a race while on vacation, which will be added motivation to get out there and run. I can’t wait to share my travels and runcation experiences with everyone!
