Back to Golden Gate Park

Between work, an internship, and (of course) running, I’ve been a busy, busy lady lately! I’m currently 3 weeks in to my internship as a fitness coach, and everything has been going amazing well so far. My new schedule has been an adjustment for me, with late nights bartending and early mornings at the gym, but it will be well worth it in the end.

Official training for the San Francisco Marathon will begin in late March, and I’ve been working on building my running base. I’m SUPER excited that Rich, my boyfriend, will be running the marathon with me this year! This will be his FIRST 26.2 miles, so he is going to need ample words of caution encouragement. With a marathon training cycle about to begin, I was in need of new running shoes, so I picked up a pair of Asics at the Sports Basement:

All shiny and new

Earlier this week, I took them on their first 4 mile run in Golden Gate Park. I’ve run plenty of mileage in the park before, but it has been a couple of months since running here so felt good to be back. The scenery is always gorgeous! Year-round you will see beautiful flowers throughout the park…

And so many different trees!

There are also many of lakes and ponds throughout Golden Gate…

…and multiple museums, and gardens:

And the Shakespeare Garden!

It was refreshing to get out of my neighborhood for a run, and I was able to see so much in just a 4 mile, out-and-back run!

The San Francisco Marathon will be my 3rd marathon, and I think I’m just about ready to start training!

Happy Friday runners!

  1. I miss running and being able to see grass! I don’t even remember what it looks like! I wish we had more parks like this – I would want to run every single day. Way to go managing your crazy schedule – I am so excited for you and what lies ahead!

    • Aw it looks so crazy over there! Beautiful, but so much snow!! Golden Gate Park is a BEAUTIFUL park, it is so nice to have a place to get away from the city. Thank you, I’m trying to do the best I can with my crazy life right now! Hope you are well!! 🙂
