Travel Challenges

Hey Everyone!

I haven’t updated my blog since my blog birthday…and that’s because my best friend was in town! We spent several days wandering the city and enjoying the insanely beautiful California weather.



This weekend I’m heading back home to Arizona to visit my family for a couple of days. I’ve been traveling a lot lately, which has posed some obvious challenges with my marathon training schedule (and blogging!). I was originally following the Hal Higdon Novice 2 program, but my mileage has more closely resembled the Novice 1-which is no biggie and fits better into my life right now. I’ve got a 15 miler scheduled for the weekend while I am in Arizona. I think it will be a nice change of pace to run in a new location, but I’m also facing 100+ degree weather!

I have about 2 months left of training for the San Francisco Marathon on July 27th, and I have no more travel plans from now until then. I’ve had a lot of fun visit new places (Florida, Santa Cruz) but I really need this time to buckle down and focus as I face the most intense part of my training!

  1. Have a wonderful time traveling! After a recent (and brief) trip through Las Vegas and L.A. during my training, I highly recommend early morning running! 🙂 Oh, and carry extra water!
