Birthday Run

Well people, 32 years ago today I was born! My day started with breakfast and presents with my boyfriend. Rich bought me a new Nike Sportswatch!

pretty pretty pretty!

So after carbing-up on some delicious banana pancakes…

I HAD to take my new watch on a test run.

I have crazy skinny arms so this watch looks huge on me!

I’ve been using the Nike + app for awhile, and what I like about this is my watch data syncs with my Nike + account and I can just continue to keep track of everything as I have been. I need to play around with it some (err…read the directions next time) because it took me several blocks before I got it to start recording data. But it’s soo convenient and I love it already!

For the rest of the day I needed to hang around the house as much as I could, my poor Emmi had to see the vet on an emergency visit yesterday.

My little runner

She was experiencing sudden neck pain yesterday morning, but is now taking pain relievers and is doing so much better. Other than being sleepy, she hasn’t complained and doesn’t seem to be in pain anymore. I even caught her trying to play even though she is supposed to be resting!

I’ll take this as a good sign!

Since she has made a complete 180 from yesterday, she will spend the weekend with her favorite sitter and I’m going ahead with my plans to spend the weekend with my family and friends in Arizona-it’s been almost a year since I’ve seen them. I’m running the P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Half Marathon on Sunday too, so I will have lots to report when I get back! I hope everyone has a great weekend and happy running!

  1. Awesome! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I have the Nike TomTom too! Find me on their app site so we can be Nike+ friends!
One suggestion – the current pace isn’t always accurate, so in races I change the display to “elapsed time”. That way I can calculate my pace at the mile markers. Good luck!

    • Thanks for the tip..I noticed that yesterday-the pace and total mileage was off. I used my Nike + app on my phone too to compare. But it’s so convenient, I feel like a real runner now haha. I will definitely look you up!

  2. Happy Birthday and enjoy the Nike watch! I got one for Christmas myself but had to return it because i have wide and bony wrists I guess. Ha Anyways I got the TomTom watch and love it. I’m sure the Nike watch is awesome. Have fun!

  3. I am late but happy birthday! I hope this year is filled with lots of fun races 🙂 I hope Emmi is still doing better – it’s tough having sick pets!
