Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

In a family of three children, I was the middle child in between two brothers.

Psychologists everywhere are saying, “ahh, that explains a lot.”

I kid, I kid. But I’ve always been just a little bit jealous of sisters-no matter what, you are always guaranteed a best friend. Don’t get me wrong, brothers are a whole different type of awesome. Mostly, they always want to beat up your boyfriend.

So naturally I had to finally find someone who trains in MMA

I’ve also been blessed with two of the most incredible BFF’s in the world, who are no less than sisters to me, but they both even have sisters.

Always the bridesmaid, never the Maid of Honor *Sigh*  😉

Having said all of that, sisterhood actually comes in many forms beyond blood lines; it’s all about comradery, community, and support. Since starting this blog, I’ve been able to connect with quite a few people from around the world, including some amazing running ladies. So I’m very honored to be nominated for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award! I’ve been nominated by my running blogger sister, Slacker Runner. I really enjoy reading her blog, I think we are close to the same age so a lot of the things she says I can really relate to! And we both wear mascara when we race 😉

The blog award rules:

Thank the blogger who nominated you, answer some questions, nominate 10-12 other bloggers and notify them on their blogs (I will definitely get around to this!).

Questions:

Favorite animal- Greyhounds 🙂

Favorite non-alcoholic drink– Tea, hands down.

Facebook or Twitter– Facebook, although I use Twitter more for this blog

Favorite pattern– Polka dots!

Favorite number– 4

      • I’m not sure, but I always liked my jersey number to either be 9 or 18 if 9 wasn’t available. Soccer, basketball, etc. My track number was even 918!
Part of it could be that one of my soccer heroes as a kid was Tatu – #9. But most soccer teams reserve #10 for the best player on the team, but I always wanted 9.
        Why 4 for you?

      • Nice, I think that’s a good reason! 4 was my favorite number when I was a kid, and I really don’t know exactly why! I haven’t thought about a favorite number until I answered these questions!

  1. I only have a brother and I’ve always wanted a sister! Luckily my brother married the best girl in the world, so now I feel a bit more like I have one.

Can’t wait to check out those blogs, I’m always looking for new ones to read!

    • That’s awesome you inherited a sister! My younger brother is married, but we live in different states so I only see his wife every once in awhile. But its nice to have another girl around when we do all get together!

  2. Thank you for the nomination, Jamie! Totally made my day to see that. I will definitely answer the questions this week. Again, so sweet of you!

I have a little sister. My mom was the oldest with 2 brothers and she always says after she had me she desperately wanted another girl because she grew up always wanting a sister. I also have a brother, and the relationship with him is very different from the one I have with my sister but definitely not in a bad way. I love them both to death 🙂

  3. I look forward to reading SF Road Warrior. She has a lot of interesting posts that I will like to read, I can tell. Her blog is on a different site, so while I can read it, you can’t really post or follow without signing up. I will figure it out more when I have more time.. but, thanks for sharing! I am always amazed at how good some people’s blogs look! I guess with more blogging and time it gets easier to utilize all the capabilities. I am pretty simple at this stage.. ha ha

    • SF Road Warrior does have a great blog! She has been running longer than I have for sure, so it’s always nice to hear from a more experienced runner. I get email updates from people who are on other sites, it’s really easy to sign up!
